| This page is designed to assist you in creating the right board for you by explaining the common measurements and how they will affect you board. Length In this case the length of the board has mostly to do with how large of a rider it can support. FISHY Boards are relatively wide and so they do not necessarily compare exactly with other brands. We recommend- -Approx. 48 inches for riders under 100lbs. -Approx. 52 inches for riders 100-140lbs -Approx. 56 inches for riders 140-180lbs -Approx. 58 inches for riders up to 200lbs -Approx. 60 inches for riders over 200lbs * When in doubt...go larger. Width Width can greatly influence maneuverability, stability, and speed. *Standard FISHY width is 22 inches. Flat Area Do you need to coast or carve? The larger the flat area the better your board will coast in smaller conditions, the more general curve, the sharper it will carve at the expense of coasting ability. Think about your beach and what conditions you normally see. Rocker Rocker height is important for keeping your board from nosing under and for adding to the board's general curve, and thus, it's ability to turn. A long tall rocker will add to your turning ability but reduces the size of your flat area. Depending on what you plan to do with your board you will want to decide how the forward and rear rockers will affect your ride. Do you have questions? Contact Us! |
